"Taormina is a pretty place overrun with tourists during high season. The views out to sea are lovely. We found the temperature and humidity during August to be overbearing. The hotel while quite comfortable is on a hill and reaching the main part of the hotel from some of lower rooms somewhat tiring needing to stop at the top for a rest. Breakfast at the hotel was varied and a good start for the day. Our transfer suppliers let us down in both directions, and the hotel was ineffective at ordering a taxi for us and so we had to go down to the bus station area and find a taxi there. We did go on some interesting trips particularly Syracuse which is historically interesting. "

"Beautiful but very expensive.
Lack of public toilets was a real issue.
Transport (private and public) was very expensive and sometimes irregular.
Not much public beach space. The beach clubs were very expensive.
Small expensive grocery shops a bigger cheaper supermarket is needed."
